Thomas J. Henry Files Federal Class Action Against GM

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (March 14, 2014) Thomas J. Henry has filed a Federal Class Action Lawsuit against General Motors over vehicles recalled for defective ignitions (Filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Case 2:14-cv-00079).

The vehicles recalled include: 2005-2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, 2007 Pontiac G5, 2003-2007 Saturn Ion, 2006-2007 Chevrolet HHR, 2006-2007 Pontiac Solstice, and 2006-2007 Saturn Sky.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)General Motors has recalled approximately 1.6 million of these vehicles due to defective ignition switches which could result in the vehicles’ engines losing power without warning. When the engine loses power, multiple safety features including power brakes, power steering, anti-lock brakes, and airbags may become disabled.

In a report released Thursday, March 13, the Center for Auto Safety stated that a review of federal crash data has linked 303 deaths to airbag failures in recalled GM vehicles. GM reports that 13 deaths and 33 frontal collisions in which airbags failed to deploy have been linked to the recalled vehicles. (1) (4) (5)

“We are representing alleged victims of this recall to get the compensation they deserve,” Thomas J. Henry.

Thomas J. Henry is taking all cases relating to the GM recall including cases of serious injury and death, serious auto accidents, and claims relating to the loss of the vehicle’s resale value.
