4 Dead in New Mexico Head-On Collision

NBC Dallas/ Fort Worth reports that four family members died August 8 in a head-on collision while traveling in New Mexico.

The victims were listed as 47-year-old Michael Miller and 48-year-old Leann Miller, and their children, 12-year-old Zoey Miller, and 7-year-old Miles,

Authorities Suspect Driver Fatigue

Investigators report that the family died in head-on collision with another motorist, identified as Brian Lee, along Highway 550 about 20 miles south of Bloomfiled.

24-year old Brian Lee was reported to be fatigued during the incident that killed the family of four. Lee survived the incident with no life – threatening injuries.

The only person who was wearing a seatbelt was Michael Miller. The Miller family is survived by son, Cory Dixon.

• Though air bags provide added protection, they are not a substitute for seat belts. Air bags and seat belts together provide the greatest protection for adults.

• Driving while fatigued causes slower reaction times, reduces vigilance, and causes deficits in information processing.
