Baby Bibs Recalled for Suffocation Risk

More than 10,400 packages of Environments-brand baby bibs are being recalled for a suffocation hazard.

Details of the Environments Baby Bib Recall

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled bibs have a waterproof plastic backing that can separate from the terry cloth fabric. Once removed, this plastic can pose a suffocation hazard to babies.

The CPSC has cited 12 reports of the waterproof plastic material separating from the bib. These reports involve at least 23 packages of bibs.

Consumers should discontinue use of the recalled bibs immediately.

Description of the Recalled Bibs

The following information was provided by the CPSC:

• The recalled Environments-brand bibs were sold in packages of 12.
• Two styles of the bibs are included in the recall:
  1. A “Pocket” style bib which is 10 inches by 16 inches and includes an adjustable snap closure.
  2. A “Cover-Up” style bib which is 10 inches by 16.5 inches with cap sleeves and smock-back snap closures.
• Bibs were sold in blue and have a clear plastic waterproof backing.
• “Environments, Inc.” and SKU number 900822 or 900823 can be found printed on a label affixed to the bib.
