According to KSAT, the fatal crash occurred on SW Loop 410 near Medina Base Road.
Witnesses say a car traveling southbound on the highway crossed a barrier and entered the northbound lanes. The car then slammed into the back axle of an 18-wheeler and burst into flames.
SAPD Sgt. Michael Moore stated the force of the initial impact was so great it caused the car to slip into two parts. Due to the damage suffered by the car, police were not able to immediately identify its make and model.
