South Carolina Man Killed in Alabama Trucking Accident


Alabama State Troopers have identified the man who was killed in an accident on I-20 last week.
About the Fatal Trucking Accident
According to ABC News, Allen Robert Talley, III has been identified as the man who was killed in a trucking accident on Interstate 20 last Tuesday
Talley died around 6:18 a.m. when the Peterbilt truck he was a passenger in collided with a Freightliner that was parked on the shoulder near mile marker 162. The driver of the Peterbilt — 48-year-old Theresa Diahann Talley — was taken to UAB Hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the parked truck wasn’t injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Alabama Crash Statistics
According to data from the Department of Transportation
- Most Alabama crashes (76 percent) occurred in urban areas, but most fatalities (56 percent) occurred in rural areas.
- Of all drivers involved in fatal crashes, 9 percent were age 19 or under and 24 percent were under 25 years of age.
- For front seat occupants who are in vehicle crashes, the probability of being killed is 50 times higher for those not wearing safety belts than those who are properly restrained.
